You must be able to present proof of your age during inspections.
During 2025, it will become possible for the following customer types to travel with the Rejsekort as an app:
- Senior awaiting pension eligibility
- Child
- Business
- Disabled
In 2025, these functions will also become available:
- Traveling with companions and pets/bicycles.
The discount is only given for travel west of Storebælt and is not automatically transferred from Rejsekort as a card to Rejsekort as an app.
Transfer your earned discount levels
To transfer earned discount points from card to app, make sure your app is updated to the latest version. You can check this in Google Play and App Store.
For the latest version of Rejsekort as an app, you can transfer earned discount points from card to app in the menu item 'Discounts' and select 'Volume discount'. Then click on the plus icon and enter your 16-digit Rejsekort number.
Your discount level will now be transferred and you can travel with the same discount as you did with your Rejsekort as a card. You can transfer your discount level once. If you have earned a higher discount level in the app than you have on the card, the higher discount level will apply.
You can see your discount level for Rejsekort as a card in self-service at rejsekort.dk and see your discount level for Rejsekort as an app in the app under 'Discount'.
In the app, volume discounts are calculated on a monthly basis and are calculated at the end of the month. We use the highest discount level you have achieved in the previous three months to calculate your discount level.
Yes, you can. In connection with your travels, you will receive a daily calculation of the cost of your trips. The invoice is sent to the email address you provided when you first logged into the app.
If you do not wish to receive a daily invoice, you can unsubscribe from the function under Customer Center/Rejsekort as an app/Questions regarding payment. Here, you fill out the contact form with your request to opt out of daily invoicing.
Please note that it may take up to 10 business days for the function to be fully disabled.
No, you cannot link your physical Rejsekort to the Rejsekort app. They are two different systems.
Your Commuter Card and your e-wallet from your physical Rejsekort cannot be transferred to the Rejsekort app.
Yes, we recommend that you keep your Rejsekort as a card until all the features you need as a traveler are added to the app. With your Rejsekort as a card, you can still, for example, bring a companion, your dog, and your bicycle. These features will be available later in Rejsekort as an app.
Since the two Rejsekort types are not integrated regarding payment, we also recommend that you stop any automatic top-ups on your Rejsekort as a card and reduce its balance as much as possible.
When you wish to close your Rejsekort as a card and only use Rejsekort as an app, go to Self-Service and select the relevant Rejsekort. In the field, click on the red X to block the card. Once blocked, the card cannot be reopened.
After blocking/closing your Rejsekort as a card, your balance will be calculated, and any remaining amount will be transferred to your Nemkonto within approximately 14 working days. Please note that due to extraordinary busyness, there may be longer processing times for refunds. We are working to complete all refunds as quickly as possible after receiving the request.
You can also contact the Rejsekort Customer Center at phone number 70 11 33 33 for assistance with blocking the card. If you have an Anonymous Rejsekort, you need to call the above number and request a form. You can find more information about closing an Anonymous Rejsekort here:

You can read more about our rules for closing a physical Rejsekort in our Rejsekort card regulations:
Operating system requirements:
- iPhone: You need an iPhone with iOS 15 (or newer).
- Android: You need a smartphone with Android 8.0 (or newer).
SIM card: You need a functioning SIM card that allows mobile data (the Rejsekort app uses approximately 1 MB per hour).
Battery: Your phone must have enough battery for the entire journey. The app does not use more power than other apps, but there should be enough battery to last until you reach your destination and to show your ticket in case of inspection.
Payment: You must have a valid payment method linked to the app. Currently, only MobilePay is supported, but later, the option to pay with credit cards will be added.
Permissions: You need to grant the app the necessary permissions, including sharing location data. This is required for us to be able to calculate the price of your journey in the most accurate way. You can read more about our Terms for Rejsekort as an app.
Location:
Rejsekort as an app requires access to your location data to correctly register your journey. We track your location when you open Rejsekort as an app, while travelling and until shortly after you check out. This ensures that we calculate the price of your journey accurately and that you are checked out at the end of your journey. You can read more about sharing location data under the question 'Why do I need to share my location?' in the FAQ Help on your journey.
If you have an iPhone, set it to 'Always Allow'. When creating your profile in Rejsekort as an app, your iPhone will first suggest 'Allow While Using the App'. Immediately after, you can select 'Always Allow'.
If you have an Android phone, you need to select 'Allow only while using the app' under Location settings.
If you turn off location data during your journey, your ticket will no longer be valid, which may result in a penalty.
Motion:
Set to 'Enabled' for the full user experience. If you allow the app access to your phone's motion sensors, the app can remind you to check out when you no longer travel.
If you have an iPhone, you need to allow the use of your Motion & Fitness activity.
If you have an Android phone, you need to allow Physical activity.
By using motion data, the app can determine if you are moving, walking or leaving a means of transport and can distinguish between different means of transport. With motion data enabled, the app can more accurately calculate the correct journey and price.
Motion data is also a prerequisite for using the 'Smart check-out' feature, which helps you if you occasionally forget to check out.
Notifications:
Set to 'Enabled' for the full user experience. With notifications, the app can send you reminders to check out and provide a price summary of your journey.
Background App Refresh:
Set to 'Enabled' so Rejsekort as an app can continue to track your location if your phone restarts.
Mobile Data:
Set to 'Enabled' so your mobile phone can communicate with Rejsekort as an app during the journey to ensure you have a valid ticket.
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth:
We recommend enabling these to improve the accuracy of your location data.
In the Rejsekort app, it is currently possible to travel with the customer types 'Adult' (26-66 years), 'Youth' (18-25 years), and 'Senior' (67 years and older).
During 2025, the following customer types will also be able to travel using the Rejsekort app:
- Senior awaiting pension eligibility
- Child
- Business
- Disabled
In 2025, the following functionalities will also be available:
- Traveling with companions and pets/bicycles.

We store your travel data for 36 months from the registration of the information. After this period, your travel data will be anonymised and can no longer be linked to you. You can read why we do this in our Privacy Policy here:
As a public transport passenger, you have the right to file a complaint up to 36 months after your journey.
To process any potential complaints, we retain your travel data for 36 months from the date of registration, and during this period, your account will be deactivated rather than deleted.
You can read more about this in our Privacy Policy:
If you have deactivated your profile in Rejsekort as an app, you can reactivate your account within the first 36 months by using the same email address and phone number you used when you first created your account. This way, you will regain access to your data.
According to our Privacy Policy, we store your travel data for 36 months from the registration of the information. You can read our Privacy Policy here:
No. With Rejsekort as an app, you can find all features and information in the app.
Self Service only provides access to features and information related to Rejsekort as a card.
Rejsekort as an app supports both Danish and English. The language of Rejsekort as an app is determined by the language setting of your phone.
So, if you want to switch the language from English to Danish or vice versa, you need to change the language in your phone's settings, not in the app.
You can still use Rejsekort as a card, just as you always have done. We understand that some customers, for various reasons, do not wish to or cannot use Rejsekort as an app. Therefore, we are developing an alternative solution.
Rejsekort as a card will not be phased out until an alternative is in place for those who cannot or do not wish to use the app. We will give notice well in advance before any changes to Rejsekort as a card are made.
In 2025, it will be possible to purchase single tickets and zone tickets on a physical card (as is the case today) or on your payment card. It will be possible to buy and store multiple tickets on the card with a top-up option. The ticket must be activated at a physical stand to be valid.
The new options are:
1. A card where travellers can choose automatic or manual top-up of tickets via a webshop or a sales outlet
2. An anonymous card that can be topped up with tickets at a sales outlet
3. A payment card that can be used to buy zone tickets for short trips. The zone ticket is stored on the payment card
For all three options, tickets must be bought in advance – for example, for a predetermined number of zones or for a predetermined route such as Vejle-Aarhus. The physical card can contain multiple different products at the same time, such as 10 trips in 2 zones, 10 trips between Vejle and Aarhus and 10 trips in 4 zones. Finally, the card can also contain a Commuter Card, which will be linked to a specific traveller.
To use Rejsekort as an app, you must be registered with your personal information. Therefore, it is not possible to travel anonymously with Rejsekort as an app.
So, for now, keep your Rejsekort Anonymous.
There will be a longer transition period where it will still be possible to use Rejsekort as a card. Later, a new solution with physical equipment and cards will become available for those who either do not want to or are unable to use Rejsekort as an app. We will give notice well in advance before any changes to Rejsekort as a card are made.
