Travel with Basiskort

The Basiskort is for those who prefer a physical card when travelling with public transport. You can order a Basiskort for a child, an adult, a young person over the age of 18, a pensioner (over or under the age of 67), or a person with a disability.

The Basiskort is a physical card for those who prefer to travel by public transport without a smartphone. With Basiskort, you can travel throughout Denmark, except Bornholm, entirely without an app.

Later this year it will be possible to travel with Basiskort to 3 stations in Malmø, Sweden.

There are two versions of the card:

The personal Basiskort

  • This card is personal, and you can travel at a lower price if you have the customer type Disabled or Pensioner.
  • You pay for your journeys once a day using a payment card or MobilePay.
  • The card can only be used by you.

The anonymous Basiskort (Spring 2026)

  • This card contains no personal information, allowing you to travel anonymously.
  • You top up the card with cash or a payment card at selected sales locations.
  • The card can be used by you and others.
It is currently possible to order a personal Basic Card if you are an adult, a child, young person over 18 years of age, a pensioner (over or under 67 years of age) or have a disability.

To order and purchase a personal Basiskort, you need an email address and either MobilePay or a payment card. Later, it will also be possible to order without an email address and with other payment methods. You can read more about this in our FAQ under “Price and payment”.

Basiskort is expanding in spring 2026
We are continuously developing Basiskort and making it available to more people before the physical Rejsekort closes. In spring 2026, it will be possible to order Basiskort for businesses, and commuters. In addition, it will be possible to buy an anonymous Basiskort at selected sales locations if you prefer to travel anonymously.

You can stay updated on this page, where we will continuously share news about Basiskort.

With the Basiskort, you must check in every time you board and check out every time you get off. This also applies when transferring along the way, even if the journey continues with the same type of transport.

Fortunately, you no longer need to think about which validator to use. From now on, you will encounter new Check Points, which you can use for both check-in and check-out.
You also use the Check Point if you want to add fellow travellers when travelling with the Basiskort.

How it works
When you start a journey:
• Check in when you board
• Check out when you get off

When transferring along the way:
• Check in again when you board
• Check out again when you get off

The easiest way is to order your Basiskort in Self Service. It only takes a few minutes, and the card will be sent directly to your home.

If you are not able to order it online, you can also call us at +45 70 11 33 33. We will be happy to help you order your card. Please note that ordering by phone require MobilePay to set up the payment method.
If you do not have email, MobilePay or a payment card, you will have to wait a while before you can get a Basiskort. In the meantime, you can continue to travel with your physical Rejsekort.

During the spring, it will be possible for you, without email or digital payment methods, to:

• Buy an anonymous Basiskort and top up with cash at selected points of sale throughout the country.
• Buy a personal Basiskort through the Rejsekort Customer Center and apply to pay for cards and travel with an invoice.

You can stay updated here on the page or call the Rejsekort Customer Center to find out about your options.
