The physical Youth Card after 29 May 2026

The physical Rejsekort will be phased out on 29 May 2026.

The physical Rejsekort closes on 29 May 2026.

If you prefer travelling with a physical card, we recommend that you log in to mitungdomskort.dk now and choose a new delivery option, as delivery of the new physical Ungdomskort can take up to 10 weekdays. This helps you avoid days where you cannot travel with your Ungdomskort.

Please note that you must choose a new delivery option even if you are currently travelling with a card, so you are registered with the new physical Ungdomskort.
You can read more about the physical Ungdomskort after the closure of Rejsekort in the FAQ below.
Your card will be blocked automatically
After 28 May 2026, your current Ungdomskort on Rejsekort will be blocked automatically. Any remaining balance will be paid to your NemKonto within 2 months.
If you have not selected a new delivery option by then, you will need to place a new order to travel with Ungdomskort again.
Tap the card
The new physical Ungdomskort is only delivered in Jutland and on Funen. Here, please be aware that with the new physical Ungdomskort, you must tap every time you board and every time you get off. This also applies when transferring, even if your journey continues with the same type of transport. You tap at the yellow Checkpoints on buses and platforms.
In the DOT area (Zealand, Lolland, Falster and Møn), your physical Ungdomskort will be delivered by DSB.
On Bornholm, it is only possible to travel with the Rejsebillet app.

The physical Rejsekort closes on 29 May 2026 and the last day you can travel with your Youth Card on Rejsekort is 28 May 2026. You should therefore already now switch your delivery type to either Rejsebillet or the new physical Youth Card to make sure you can continue to travel with Youth Card and avoid days without valid travel options.

To switch to the new physical Youth Card, you must:

  • Log in to mitungdomskort.dk
  • Go to Overview and click the button “Change periods, delivery or payment”
  • Press “Change delivery” and select delivery for the next period.

Here you can choose to receive your card digitally in the Rejsebillet app or as a physical Youth Card.

Note that delivery time is up to 10 working days for the physical card. We therefore encourage you to make the change as soon as possible so the new card can arrive by mail before your current Youth Card expires.

If you wish to continue using your Rejsekort, please be aware that it will automatically close on 29 May 2026, and any remaining balance will be paid to your NemKonto within 2 months.

The physical Rejsekort closes on 29 May 2026. You can therefore switch to the new physical Youth Card or Rejsebillet in good time before the physical Rejsekort closes.
You pay for all days the card is valid (including weekends, holidays etc.) at a fixed daily price. It is possible to pause your ordered periods, for example when you take holidays. You insert pauses yourself in your periods at
www.mitungdomskort.dk.
The price is different for young people in youth education, young people in higher education, and young people aged 16–19 outside the education system.
There are 3 ways to order Youth Card. It depends on whether you need it for Eastern Denmark or Western Denmark, and whether you are a student or aged 16–19.
You are approved for Youth Card via your MitID and can choose whether you want a physical Youth Card or to have it digitally in the Rejsebillet app.

Step 1:
If you are between 16–19 years old and not in education, you can go directly to Step 2.
If you are in education, go to ungdomskort.dk and log in with MitID. If your education is approved, an approval is already available for you. If not, you must contact your educational institution.

Step 2:
Now you are ready to order Youth Card and can choose ‘Order digital Youth Card’ (Rejsebillet or DSB app) or ‘Order physical card’ (the new physical Youth Card for Jutland and Funen or DSB’s card for the DOT area).
Go to mitungdomskort.dk and log in with MitID. Please note that you can only log in to mitungdomskort.dk once you have completed the approval process at ungdomskort.dk.
During registration, you must use your own email address.

How long before you receive your physical Youth Card
Once you are approved for Youth Card and have ordered a physical card, it is sent by mail. Normal delivery takes up to 10 working days, and express delivery up to 5 working days. If you are under 18, you can only order with normal delivery.

Your digital Youth Card is delivered within 24 hours to either Rejsebillet or DSB.

The first day of validity is the day you selected in your profile on mitungdomskort.dk.
You can read about Youth Card for your area on ungdomskort.dk and mitungdomskort.dk, where you also order your card.

You can buy a discounted ticket when travelling outside your validity area.

You pay for all days the card is valid (including weekends, holidays etc.) at a fixed daily price.

The price differs for young people in education and for those in higher education or outside the education system.

It is possible to pause your ordered periods, for example during holidays. You insert pauses yourself in your periods at www.mitungdomskort.dk.

Your Ungdomskort is personal and only valid in the area you order it for. Read more at www.mitungdomskort.dk.

Remember:

  • Your card is personal and may only be used by you.
  • You cannot add fellow travellers to your Ungdomskort.
  • You may bring 2 children under 12 for free when travelling in Jutland and Funen.

The price of your Ungdomskort will appear in your order once you have selected the area your card should cover. Please note that you must buy an additional ticket if you want to bring your bike.

Expiration of Ungdomskort:
The Ungdomskort is valid for 30–123 consecutive days at a time, depending on what you choose when ordering periods for your card on
www.mitungdomskort.dk.
On the last day of validity, the period expires at 23:59. If you need to travel after 00:00 the next day, you must renew your period for the Ungdomskort at
www.mitungdomskort.dk first.

Your Ungdomskort automatically expires when your educational approval ends or when you reach 19 years of age.

The physical Rejsekort closes on 29 May 2026.
To continue travelling with Youth Card, you must choose how your card will be delivered after 29 May 2026: either as a physical card or digitally in the Rejsebillet app.
If you prefer to travel with a physical card, you can already now log in to mitungdomskort.dk and select a new delivery method, as delivery of the new physical Youth Card takes up to 10 working days. This way you avoid days where you cannot travel with your Youth Card.

Please note that you must choose a new delivery method even if you currently travel with a card, so you are registered with the new physical Youth Card.

How to renew or change your Youth Card:
You select and change periods in your profile on mitungdomskort.dk under “Change periods, delivery or payment”. You can change periods, and you can choose automatic renewal until your approval expires.

If there are periods where you do not need your Youth Card, for example during holidays or travel abroad, you must log in to mitungdomskort.dk and select “Change periods, delivery or payment”.

By default, your Youth Card is ordered for your entire education period with renewal every 30 days. You can change the validity period and add pauses on mitungdomskort.dk. You can choose validity periods between 30 and 123 days at a time.

Four days before the period expires, you will receive a message that the next period for your Youth Card is ready for payment.

Rejsebillet
If you have chosen to have your Youth Card in Rejsebillet, your next period is automatically transferred to the app. The period is renewed with the number of days you selected on mitungdomskort.dk. Under My Tickets, you can click Youth Card and pay for the next period.

If you need to travel with Youth Card on Zealand, Lolland, Falster or Møn, you must renew or change your card in the same way on mitungdomskort.dk.

If you have questions about your Youth Card or the order process, you can always contact the transport authority that covers your chosen area. On mitungdomskort.dk you will find general information and contact details.
