Tickets
Ticket types
If you're taking the metro with your bike, remember to purchase an additional ticket. You can buy it in the app, just like a regular single ticket. Under Additional Tickets, select Bike Ticket for the metro and complete the purchase.
Note: You are not allowed to bring your bike on the metro during weekdays from 7:00 – 9:00 and 15:30 – 17:30 due to rush hours.
If you wish to take your bike on other forms of public transport, you can find the rules on the respective transport companies' websites.
Validity of ticket
With Rejsebillet, you can purchase tickets for buses, trains, metro, and light rail—public transport throughout Denmark.
Your ticket is valid for the route or zones you have purchased.
On your ticket, you can see which zones or destination your ticket covers. You can also see how long it is valid.
Your ticket will appear on the app's home screen as soon as you have purchased it. Expand it to view all information—and to show it during ticket inspection.
In the event of a delay, your ticket’s validity will not be extended. If you have started your journey before the ticket expires, it remains valid for that specific mode of transport.
However, please note that it may not be valid for continuation on a different form of transport, and you may need to purchase an additional ticket.
The standard rules for delays apply. You can read more about these rules on the respective transport companies' websites.
Fare inspection
During ticket inspection on your journey, you must present a valid ticket.
You can find it on Rejsebillet by clicking on your purchased ticket or commuter pass and showing the details to the inspection staff.
Remember: It is your responsibility to always have a valid ticket for the journey, ensure your phone has enough battery, and have a screen that allows the ticket to be visible.
If you bought a ticket via Rejsebillet and cannot display it, you may receive a penalty fare. This also applies if your mobile phone runs out of battery, if your screen is broken, or if you are otherwise unable to display your ticket.
If you received a penalty fare because the Rejsebillet app was not functioning, you can contact the Rejsekort Customer Center to request reimbursement for the additional expense incurred.
Overview of your tickets
When you open the app, locate your active ticket or commuter pass by clicking on the "My Tickets" icon at the bottom of the screen. You can see how many zones you have purchased, whether it is for a child or an adult, and how long it is valid.
If you need to show it for ticket inspection, click on it to display all details and the QR code.
Remember: it is your responsibility to always have a valid ticket for the journey, ensure your phone has enough battery, and have a screen that allows the ticket to be visible.
You can read more in the National Travel Rules, which you can find in footer under The Fine Print.
General single tickets can always be purchased nationwide. In addition, individual transport companies may offer ticket types that are only valid in certain areas of the country or at specific times of the year.
Therefore, you cannot expect to be able to purchase the same type of tickets nationwide throughout the year. If you are unsure about a ticket type, you can always check the rules for the area you are traveling in on the respective transport companies' websites.
Buying tickets for others
If you are not traveling together from start to destination, each traveler must buy a ticket on their own phone.
- You cannot purchase a ticket and give it to someone else.
- You cannot send the ticket or a photo of the ticket to another person.
- You cannot print a ticket, as it must be displayed directly from the Rejsebillet app.
Regular fares apply for travel companions, and there is no group discount.
To purchase a ticket for a child, adult, or senior traveling with you, click "Add" next to the green circle with a number before paying for the journey.
If you are purchasing tickets for an event, the number of tickets you can buy depends on the transport company you are traveling with.
Therefore, different rules apply depending on where you travel and which transport company you use. Check the rules on the respective transport companies' websites.
Cancel my ticket
You can cancel pre-purchased zone tickets and tickets for a specific route up until the day before departure. This also applies to commuter passes.
- Click on the three horizontal lines at the bottom right.
- Click on "Previous Purchases."
- Select the ticket you wish to cancel.
