While travelling

While travelling

Do you need to show documentation if there is a ticket inspection when you travel as a Pensioner?

No, once you are registered as Pensioner in the Rejsekort app, you do not need to show documents to prove that you are entitled to the pensioner discount.

But – like everyone else – you must be able to show proof of identity if requested.

This means that during an inspection, you must be able to show something with your name and age on it. This could, for example, be your health insurance card or driver’s license.

This is part of the rules when using Rejsekort as an app.

Please also note that the physical Pensioner Card you already know will remain unchanged and continue to function as before.

You can buy and renew the card as usual. Read more about the DOT Pensioner Card at Pensioner Card

With the Rejsekort app, you can check in for travel by:

  • Bus

  • Train

  • Metro

  • Light rail

The Rejsekort app is valid with the transport companies that cooperate with Rejsekort & Rejseplan A/S.

You can also use the app here:

  • On trips home from Malmö, Hyllie, and Triangeln with trains from Skånetrafiken when traveling to Denmark

  • When traveling to Sweden – but only to the stations Malmö C, Hyllie, and Triangeln

  • On bus line 110 between Sønderborg and Flensburg

But – you cannot use the app on Bornholm.

Please also note that the physical Pensioner Card you already know will remain unchanged and continue to function as before.

You can buy and renew the card as usual. Read more about the DOT Pensioner Card at Pensioner Card.

Unfortunately, you cannot add other pensioners as fellow travelers in the Rejsekort app. This is because they must be registered as pensioners in the system. However, you can add fellow travelers as: Adult (16+) and Child (0–15).
