Important dates
Here are the key dates for the gradual phase-out:
16 May, 2026 was the last day you could buy or order a new physical Rejsekort Personal, Flex, Commuter Combi, and Commuter Card.
28 May, 2026 was the last day you could travel using the physical Rejsekort on buses, local trains, or light rail services in Jutland and on Funen
20 June, 2026 was the last day you could order a replacement Rejsekort. Going forward, you can travel using the Rejsekort app, the Basiskort (physical card), or the Rejsebillet app.
27 June, 2026 was the last day you could use the Check Udvej app for at forgotten check-out
29 June, 2026 was the last day you could:
- Travel with the physical Rejsekort.
- Top up your physical Rejsekort.
30 June, 2026: The Rejsekort system has been shut down, and it is no longer possible to use a physical Rejsekort.
Even though the physical Rejsekort has been discontinued, you can still do the following:
16 July, 2026 is the last day you can pay overdue invoices via Self-Service.
23 July, 2026 is the last day you can log in to Self-Service and:
• Update your contact information
• View and download travel history
23 July, 2026 is the last day you can transfer discount level from the physical Rejsekort to the Rejsekort app.
How you can travel
Options for travelling by bus, train, metro, and light rail are:
• Rejsekort app: Check in and out in the app and pay continuously at the same price as the physical Rejsekort
• Basiskort (physical card): Check in and out at card readers at the same price as the physical Rejsekort. Choose between personal or anonymous Basiskort
• Rejsebillet app: Buy single tickets, commuter cards, and special tickets in the app. Youth Card can also be issued digitally
Your balance is automatically transferred to your NemKonto.
If you had a balance remaining on your Rejsekort after your last day of travel, we will automatically deposit the amount into your NemKonto. Refunds of any remaining balance and any remaining card fees will be processed during August 2026.
Remaining amount
Top-up
Your Top-up agreement automatically closes when the physical Rejsekort closes on 30 June 2026.
On 29 June 2026 it is possible to top up your Rejsekort until 23:59 pm, but please note that card readers at stations/platforms are only updated approximately every five hours, and card readers on buses are only updated approximately once a day.
You should therefore use top-up via Self-service at least 5 hours (for train/metro/light rail) and 24 hours (for bus) before the amount is to be used on Rejsekort.
Therefore, also be aware of when you make a manual top-up at the latest depending on which type of transport you will travel with if you travel on 29 June 2026.
It will for example be an advantage for you to ensure that you stop your Top-up agreement well in advance so that the system does not automatically top up shortly before the Rejsekort system closes, as the repayment period is longer after the system closes.
If you wish to stop your Top-up agreement before 30 June 2026 to avoid having money on the card that you must wait to get back, you must do so via Self-service. Guide: Stop Top-up agreement.
Last travel day
It is no longer possible to travel with a physical Rejsekort in buses, local trains, or light rail services in Jutland and on Funen.
On 29 June, 2026 at 23:59, this is the last day you can check in using a physical Rejsekort on:
• buses, metro, local trains, and light rail in Zealand, Lolland, Falster, and Møn
• DSB trains across the country and to Hyllie, Triangeln, and Malmö C in Sweden
• GoCollective trains in Jutland and Funen
Your check-in remains valid after midnight and continues to serve as a valid ticket – including if you encounter ticket inspection. However, you cannot check in again after midnight if you change means of transport during your journey. Once your journey is finished, you can check out by 06:00 on 30 June, 2026.
If you are travelling across the country using multiple means of transport – for example, by train from Copenhagen to Aarhus and then continuing by bus or light rail – please note that your Rejsekort is only valid until Aarhus Central Station. You must therefore purchase an additional ticket for the remainder of your journey. More information can be found on the transport operators’ websites.

Personal data
Instead of Rejsekort Flex
It is no longer possible to travel using Rejsekort Flex.
If you wish going forward to share your card with others, we can recommend the anonymous Basiskort, the new physical alternative to the physical Rejsekort.
If your child has a Rejsekort, it will also be possible to use the physical Basiskort for children. You can read more on this page: Basiskort for children
We can also recommend the Rejsekort app. With the Rejsekort app, you get many of the same functions and options that you know from your physical Rejsekort. The app can be used by everyone regardless of whether you are a child, young person, adult, pensioner both under and over 67 years of age, or have a disability. Here you can read more about the Rejsekort app, and you can download it in the App Store or Google Play.
Note: you cannot share the profile in the Rejsekort app. The account is personal.

Special conditions
Emigrated – if you have emigrated and you have an active Rejsekort with a balance, we will automatically deposit the amount into your NemKonto, likely in August 2026. If you do not have a NemKonto, please contact the Rejsekort Customer Service Center and request that the funds be transferred to your IBAN. You can contact the Rejsekort Customer Center by phone at +45 70 11 33 33.
Card type
You can also check by placing the card in a Rejsekort machine or by going to Self-service, where you will find an overview of your card(s) with information about rejsekort number and card type.
If you do not have a login for Self-service or cannot see your card in the overview in Self-service, it is most likely because you have a Rejsekort Anonymous. If you want to be completely sure, you can check the back of your Rejsekort: If you see a map of Denmark, it is a Rejsekort Anonymous.
